World Classical Tamil Conference theme song unveiled by A R Rahman


It was an evening of music at the University Centenary Auditorium in Chennai evening as the theme song for the World Classical Tamil Conference was unveiled by its composer and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.


Set to tune by double Oscar - Grammy winner A R Rahman, the song was sung by three generation of singers from veteran T M Soundararajan till Karthik. The video has been shot by film director Goutham Vasudev Menon.

Speaking after launching the CDs, the Chief Minister said, 'Youngsters should emulate Rahman for he is an epitome of hardwork and sincerity.'Violin maestro L Subramaniam who received the first copy of the album expressed his admiration for Chief Minister's lyrics and the good work of Rahman and Goutham Menon.

Earlier addressing mediapersons on the sidelines of the event, Rahman said, 'It is a joy to have been associated with the song. 'It took two to two-and-a-half months, but we were working with a large crew - almost 70 singers'.
