Actress Nadhiya Will Host Kushboo's Jackpot

When former leading actress and television anchor Kushboo joined DMK, the opposition Jayalalithaa run Jaya TV was in a big fix. Their most popular programme “Jackpot” hosted by Kushboo had to be yanked off the channel.

The nine year old programme not only made money for Jaya TV but also gave Kushboo, her larger than life image. After the exit of Kushboo, the channel launched a massive hunt for a equally good replacement for her.

Finally they chose Nadhiya Moidu, another former actress of the 1980’s, whose girl-next door image worked big time with family audiences. Nadhiya who made a sensational debut with Fazil’s Malayalam film Nokkatha Doorathu Kannum Nattu, later strayed into Tamil and played heroine roles in films like Uyire Unakage, Poove Illam Poove and as Rajinikanth’s heroine in Rajathi Raja during the 80’s and 90’s.

Recently she made a huge impact making a coming back doing films like M Kumaran S / O Mahalakshmi, Thamirabarani, Pattalam. Says Nadhiya: “I have been getting a lot offers from television channels. But I was not keen to take them as they demand a huge chunk of my time. But Jackpot on Jaya TV is one such interesting programme, where I felt in shortest time I can contribute a lot and do lots of work.”
