Filmmaker Seeman's social organisation formally became a political outfit

The social organisation 'Nam Tamizhar', floated by filmmaker Seeman, championing the cause of Sri Lankan Tamils, formally became a political outfit in Tuesday.

The State-level conference of the outfit, according to reports, said there was no other option except an independent 'Tamil Eelam' and urged the Indian government to recognise it.

Launching a tirade against the Central and State governments at the conference, Seeman said they had failed to protect Tamils in Sri Lanka. 'The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre and the DMK government in Tamilnadu have let down the Lankan Tamils,' he said.
