Police Registered Murder Case Against Actor Arun Vijay

Nungambakkam Police on Wednesday registered an attempt to murder case against Arun for allegedly holding out a threat to his sister Vanitha.

According to sources, Police registered the case under sections 455 (criminal trespass), 452 (trespass to cause hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (2) (threatening to kill) of the IPC against the actor and three other persons.

Vanitha, who has been leveling allegations against her father Vijayakumar and other family members, lodged a complaint with Chennai city Police Commissioner T Rajendran alleging Arun Vijay had telephoned her and threatened her of dire consequences.

Following a directive from the Commissioner, Nungambakkam Police registered the case against Arun Vijay for "issuing murder threats to Vanitha and her family". "The actor is however not in the city now," sources say.

The dispute in Vijayakumar's family worsened when the Police arrested Vanitha's husband Anandarajan last week, following a complaint from Vijayakumar. Vanitha had alleged that her parents tortured her and they had her son in their custody.
