Actress Namitha has finally been signed up to play the negative role

Actress Namitha, who has not a single Tamil on her hand at present, has finally been signed up to play the (negative) role in ‘Ilaignan’. Lyricist Paa Vijay makes another attempt to establish him as a hero in Kollywood with this film, for which Kalaignar would be penning story and dialogues.

The film, said to be the re-launch of ‘Thai Kaviyam’ which was launched with fanfare last year with Vijay in the lead but was later abandoned, is being directed by Suresh Krissha who has given many hits with superstars Rajni and Kamal. Suresh and Vijay were looking for an ‘appropriate artiest’ to portray a powerful but negative role of a woman in the film.

Finally, the duo zeroed in on Namitha, who immediately agreed to do the role. Talking about her role in the film, Namitha says, “I loved the script narrated to me by Suresh Krissna and Paa Vijay. More than anything else, to be associated in a film for which Kalaignar is penning the story and dialogues is in itself a great thing as far as I’m concerned!”

The part of the film’s shooting in which the tall and well-built Namitha would be taking part would be held in the picturesque Ooty from 17th May. Ramya Nambeesan, who debuted as heroine opposite Cheran in last year’s ‘Raman Thediya Seethai’, plays Vijay’s heroine in the film, for which Vidyasagar would be scoring the music.

So, all you Namitha fans: get ready to watch your sex-siren on screen again!
