Tamilnadu Chief Minister M akarunanidhi's grandson sung a song in tamil movie

Tamil cinema is moving towards realism. Gone are the days when the heroes would utter punch dialogues and fly in the air defying the laws of gravity fighting baddies. Joining the list of realistic movies is Thittakudi.

Produced by R Sivagokula Raj, the movie dwells on the lives of masons and is directed by Sundaran. Says the direcxtor, 'there has always been a passion in me to do quality films. After I had the opportunity to work witrh filmmaker Siva for Dhanam, my desire to do a meaningful movie increased'.

The movie chronicles the lives of labourers involved in construction industry and is set in Perambalur and Cuddalore districts. A farmer by profession Ravi plays the hero while newcomer Ashvatha plays the female lead.

The highlight of the film is a song sung by Dr Arivunidhi, playback singer and grandson of Tamilnadu Chief Minister M akarunanidhi. The other credits are A Karupaiah (cinematography), Selvanambi (music).
