The Producers Council Has Been Raising Voices About Music Directors Remuneration

The producers’ council has been raising voices about the huge salaries of leading heroes and heroines. The council calls for reducing their remuneration in order to save the industry from suffering huge losses, another voice is also heard in the industry urging that music directors too should be ‘restrained’ from quoting a high fee as their remuneration for scoring music in films.

The said voice has reportedly emanated from the Nadigar Sangam itself, sources say. It is said that A.R. Rehman gets Rs.3 crore per film, Harris gets Rs.2.25 crores, Yuvan Shankar Rs.1.25 crores, Vijay Anthony Rs.0.50 crore, Sundar C Babu Rs.0.40 crore and Vidyasagar gets Rs.0.75 crore for scoring music per film.

Except internationally acclaimed A.R. Rehman, all other music directors may be asked by the Sangam and the Producers’ Council to decide on their own to reduce their fee taken per film.
