  • She may have stepped out of the scenic beauty of Himachal a few years back in hunt for name, fame and success. However the small town girl is now dreaming bigger and wants to go a step higher. She has developed a royal taste for herself and though her small town film ’Tanu Weds Manu’ is her biggest success till date, Kangna now wants to reprise the role of Anarkali in ’Mughal-E-Azam’.

"Yes, that’s my dream and till I have done a classic like ’Mughal-E-Azam’, I don’t think my repertoire of films would be complete," says Kangna while being all mooney-eyed, "Now that’s the kind of a film which never goes stale and people would want to watch again and again".

Reflecting on the years gone by and the manner in which she wishes to strategise the years to follow, Kangna says in a hopeful tone, "I want to make films which I think would be enjoyed tremendously by the audience and boast of a long shelf life."

Well, we would wait for a classic like that to come from you Kangna. Till then one hopes you are content with more grounded stuff like ’Game’, ’Double Dhamaal’, ’Tezz’, ’One & Only’, ’Happy New Year’ as well as ’Rascals’, all of which are she slated to release during next 12 months.

Gautham Menon To Make Vinnaithandi Vaaruvaaya In Hindi

  • ‘Vinnaithandi Vaaruvaaya’ was a smashing hit in Tamil. The film was directed by Gautham Menon with Simbu and Trisha in the lead. Now the National Award winning director is all set to make another hit with the Hindi version of VTV. The film will get on the floors on April 4, say reports. Right from his first film ‘Minnale,’ Gautham has been receiving offers from producers for Hindi remakes of all most all his films.

Apart from a good script another winning streak in all Gautham films are the songs. Be it Rehman or Harris, most of the songs in all his films have been chartbusters in the south. Then the directot came out with an out and out psychological thriller film ‘Nadunisi Naigal’ with Sameera Reddy in the lead. Sans any songs, because of a very fast paced and thrilling story the film received mixed reviews from critics.

The director has roped in Prateik Babbar, son of late actress Smita Patel and actor- politician Raj Babbar, for the lead role and Amy Jackson will play the female lead. The shoot for this film which was supposed to have begun already was delayed because the hero of the film being tied up with Aamir’s ‘Dhobi Ghat’, suggest reports. Now we also hear that Ms. Jackson who made her debut appearance in ‘Madarasapattinam’ opposite Arya is learning her Hindi lessons for getting the language right for the film. The music for this Hindi remake too will be authored by A.R. Rahman.

So we can expect some great fireworks on screen with splendid music and great locations, yet again for the Hindi VTV. We will get back with more latest updates only on Indiaglitz.com!

Ramya Spandana Banned For One Year In Kannada Movies

  • Popular South Indian actress Ramya Spandana was banned for one year by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) in the midst of disputes between the actress and producer A. Ganesh over her absence from the promotional programmes of his forthcoming film Dandam Dashagunam (starring Ramya) and repayment of a loan of Rs. 9 lakhs that the producer borrowed from the actress to complete the film.

Notably, A. Ganesh is the General Secretary of KFCC. Reportedly, the actress kept away from the promotional events because the producer delayed in repaying the loan amount for more than eight months. Reacting to the ban, Ramya said that it makes no sense in banning her when she has herself decided to quit films.

Notably, the actress had announced earlier that she would quit films, following criticism over her refusal to attend the audio launch of Dandam Dashagunam. Asked about the money that the producer borrowed, she said that since eight months he has been dodging her for the loan she got from her friend. Meanwhile, producer Munirathna defended Ramya in a TV show on Wednesday, saying that not all producers support the ban.

    Dongala Mutha Telugu Movie Review

  • Movie-Dongala Mutha

    Director-Ram Gopal Varma

Cast-Ravi Teja, Charmee, Lakshmi Manchu, Brahmanandam, Prakash Raj, Subbaraju, Supreet, Brahmaji

Ram Gopal Varma made tall claims that Dongala Mutha will set a remarkable example as to how cost cutting could be implemented in Tollywood. He further said that even if the film runs for one show, it will be a success.

A young couple Sudhir (Ravi Teja) and Rani (Charmme) lands up at a resort in a forest. They soon find that something fishy is going on in the resort. They start hearing strange noises in their room. They are given a spine-twisting answer that a ghost is haunting the place and that they should leave immediately.

But, the couple discovers that the hotel operators are not real, but thieves, having kidnapped a rich man (Brahmanandam). The couple is about to escape when the story takes yet another hilarious twist with the entry of Richard (Sunil) and Shiva (Lakshmi Manchu), who starts posing as real thieves. Who are real thieves and what is their motif? This forms the crux of the 90-minute drama.

Ravi Teja as usual is neat, but he showed an altogether different tilt in his characterization. Unlike his regular flicks, the audience will not find the jarring dialogues and racy stunts and quick boiling points in his characterization.

Charmee looked hot in many angles thanks to the close up shots of Canon 5D cam. Compared to her previous films, she had improved her own dubbing a lot and you find that Charmme has turned into a `pucca` Telugu heroine. Lakshmi Manchu`s energetic performance is a big asset to the film.

Prakash Raj did nothing new while Subbaraju has some shades to impress the audience, and Brahmanandam is hilarious in parts and Brahmaji, who mostly appears in RGV flicks is just the same. Sunil`s role is subdued.

In fact, RGV himself never attached any importance to the film going by its story. He never showed interest in asserting the technical prowess of the film, its duration and above all the significance of the Canon 5D cameras. He said that the entire film production had cost him around Rs 6.5 lakhs. Considering this angle, this film can be considered a revolutionary development in Tollywood, or to that matter in the Indian panorama.

Except for the technical innovations, the film is lacking in story and comedy. Music is not apt, though RGV tried to focus some of the scenes in the tension-filled light.

The first half runs awry with heavy monotony, while the second half is jam packed with several episodes, losing their sway on the audience.

No doubt, the film has the great potential to inspire many a talented director to experiment with his creativity thanks to the Canon 5D camera; which happens to be the real hero for RGV.

    Verdict: Can be watched once

Actor Vikram's New Movie Named Deiva Thirumagan

  • AL Vijay’s new film with Vikram Anushka and Amala Paul was originally titled as Deiva Magan.

But the title rights was with Sivaji Productions who were sentimental about it.

Deiva Magan is one of Sivaji Ganesan’s all-time super hits. Sivaji Production have plan to make a film with same title, which will be the launch pad of Prabhu’s son Vikram.

So they were not willing to give the title to producer Mohan Natarajan for his Chiyaan film.

AL Vijay and Vikram then titled it Pitha, which again went into trouble as the same title was registered by another producer for a film with newcomers.

Now the latest we hear is that producer Mohan Natarajan has registered a new title- Deiva Thirumagan. It’s a catchy title and people who know the story of the film say its apt to the plotline and has terrific title value.
