Vijay Faced Lot Of Hurdles For Kaavalan Release
Vijay fans feel that some vested interests are out to destroy their beloved Ilayathalapathi’s Kaavalan all over Tamil Nadu. Among the Pongal releases, it was the last to release literally as matters were being sorted out on the releasing day. There was neither proper publicity nor any kind of television promotion, and still it released.
The best of the screens had gone to other Pongal releases. The film did not get prime screens especially single screens like Tiruvanmayoor Thyagaraja, as others had booked them in advance. And in some complexes like Chrompet Vetri , the rivals tore off posters put up by Vijay fans.
The fans alleged that Chrompet police was not willing to file a case.Added to that a fierce campaign was unleashed against the film, which was made out to be lacklustre? Meanwhile outside of Tamil Nadu the film has taken an extraordinary opening.
In Mumbai the film opened in 30 screens and took a bumper opening, with the word of mouth being positive. All this has lent credence to rumours that Vijay will join politics before the next assembly elections. Faced with a lot of hurdles at the time of Kaavalan release, Vijay told a select group of his fans: "I will enter politics at an appropriate time".
