Nayantara Has Made A Sensational Comeback In 2010
After a terrible 2009, South Indian actress Nayantara has made a sensational comeback in 2010. Look at her career graph in 2010! With Engira Baskaran (Tamil blockbuster), Super (Kannada blockbuster), Bodyguard (Malayalam superhit), Adurs and Simha (Telugu superhits), Nayanatara has become the first actress in the South to deliver hits in all four languages in a single year!
Besides, Nayantara received a standing ovation from the audience at the International Film Festival of India in Goa and the International Film Festival of Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram for her spectacular performance in Electra (Malayalam), directed by Shyamaprasad.
"I’m delighted and amazed at how the year has turned out for me at the box office. It feels great to be part of some of the most successful films in the south. The films I did this year have won both critical acclaim and commercial success—something which happens rarely in an actress’s career," Nayantara said in an interview to a leading newspaper.
The actress is now playing the role of Goddess Sita in veteran Telugu actor Balakrishna’s mythological film Sri Rama Rajyam, directed by veteran Bapu. Talking about it, she said: "I feel blessed to play Sita Mata.
It is a once-in-a-lifetime role. This kind of mythological films are no longer being made. Bapu sir is doing only the Lava-Kusa episode of the Ramayan. Actually, the film is a remake of the classic NTR-Anjali Devi film. Balakrishna sir is doing the role done by his dad, while I’m doing Anjali Devi’s role. I have just completed the first schedule of the film with two boys who play the twins Lava and Kusa."
