Muthukumar,A journalist and assistant director by profession immolated himself for the Eezham cause. The 4-page statement he distributed before his death is part of modern Tamil folklore.
His supreme sacrifice moved the Tamil film industry also and many from the industry hold him in high esteem.A documentary titled 'January 29' directed by Pragatheeswaran And produced by Nallathurai and Selvaraj Murugaiyan in memory of the Muthukumar.
Sathyaraj, Ameer,Pughazhendhi Thangaraj, Sibichander, Lyricist Arivumadhi and Writer Balamurali Varma were present during the function.
