Actor Vijay's Kaavalkaran Now Faces Trouble With The Title

Actor Vijay’s cup of woes appears to be over-flowing. After being served an ultimatum by theatre-owners’ association to cough up Rs.10 crores in order to compensate them for the losses suffered by way of releasing his last six films, he now faces trouble with the title of his new film ‘Kaavalkaran’ directed by Siddique (of ‘Friends’ fame).

Vijay is said to be very adamant in retaining the title ‘Kaavalkaran’, a remake of the Malayalam film ‘Bodyguard’. Unfortunately for him, the title has already been registered with the producers’ council in some other person’s name. When the film’s crew approached him for ‘granting’ them the title, he reportedly demanded Rs.50 lakhs to part with the title!

Stung by the demand, Vijay is said to have consoled himself that it would be better if he chose some other title (case of sour grapes?). There are some persons in his group of ‘advisers’ who were overheard telling the star that films having its titles from MGR’s old films are not doing well at the box-office at all. Influenced by them, Vijay has reportedly told them to think of some other ‘catchy’ title!
